We’re so glad you’ve joined us for worship today! As we gather let’s eagerly enter the presence of God, prepared to meet Him in worship, ready to be re-inspired, re-energized and re-motivated to devote our lives to loving our Lord and serving our neighbors.

If you have children then let us serve them through our babysitting service (nursery), Children in Worship (CIW) and Little Lambs (LL). Nursery is available in the lobby for ages 0-2. Directions regarding CIW & LL kids for children ages 3 (as of March 2019) through Kindergarten will be provided during morning worship.

Noise reducing headphones are now available to borrow during the morning service at the nursery counter. If your child lives with sensory input concerns, please feel free to use them.

We offer a sensory-friendly worship area for morning services, available in the Music Room (at the end of the hallway past the offices).

Hearing Loop Headsets are available for those who are hard of hearing. Please stop by the sound booth at the back of the sanctuary to receive a headset.

CRC Weekly and Requested Community Announcements pages are available in the rack on the bulletin kiosk.

News & Notes

Emergency Response Training TODAY!!

Our Emergency Response Team has been working hard to develop an emergency response plan for Fairway. In order for these plans to be effective, we need to train the rest of the congregation on them.

Please join us this morning after the service. We will provide lunch (yes, free food!) and will be training everyone on how our church will respond in the event of a fire, weather event or medical emergency. We would like everyone to be there, but we are specifically requesting that all volunteers for the following areas attend:

Nursery                       Children in Worship Security Team

Little Lambs               Medical Team Worship Leaders

Pastors                        Projection Operators

We hope to see you there!

Opportunities to Connect with Others

Depression Support Group: Need a listening ear or suggestions for ways to cope? We meet the third Monday of the month from 7:00-8:00 PM. The group is open to anyone who is experiencing depression or bi-polar depression or to family members who are dealing with someone in their family who is depressed. The group stresses confidentiality. Members may participate as they wish. Just drop in. Our next meeting will be Monday, January 21. Contact Ruth Veenstra (748-8380) or Jim VanderMay (662-0962) for more information.

WELCOME DESK HELP NEEDED: The new Welcome Desk in the lobby would love to have a rotation of some new smiling faces behind it each week - no experience necessary! It requires a willingness to welcome our visitors and tell them a little bit about Fairway if they have questions. If we add 2 or 3 more people, your rotation would probably be every couple of months, and only requires 30 minutes before the service starts, and 10-20 minutes following the service. Please contact Deb Vis if you're interested in helping out in this ministry: cjdjvis@gmail.com, or call or text 616-304-2310.

HOMEWORK HELP will begin soon. We will meet on Wednesdays after school until 5 PM. If you would like to tutor or help with snacks, please contact Jackie Boss or Paul Beebe.

Zumba will meet this Monday & Thursday, 7-8PM. $3 per class. You’re welcome to join us!

Our 'Candy man' Dwight is needing some refills on candy to hand out to the children on Sundays. There is a box for donations above mailboxes across from the kitchen serving window. Thanks for your donations. ~The Deacons

Fairway CRC is seeking a part-time accountant to fill the role of Finance Assistant. This position requires an accounting degree or equivalent with experience using QuickBooks and QuickBooks Payroll. The position averages approximately 5 hours per week and is very flexible. A full job description can be found on the church website under policy #169. Qualified applicants may submit their resume to the Treasurer, Roger Oppenhuizen.

Weekly Faith Formation Tip

It’s easy for kids to think of Bible people like Moses as David as mythical characters rather than real, flesh and blood, flawed people. When you read Bible stories where the main character does something wrong (and there are many!), emphasize that God works through imperfect people, even when they make mistakes. And share stories with your kids of how God is at work in your own imperfect life. (Faith Formation Ministries; crcna.org/FaithFormation)
