CHUCK VUGTEVEEN's (FG #8) back surgery this past week was successful. Give thanks to God for the healing already experienced, and pray for Chuck's continued good recovery.
We express our sincere Christian sympathy to ALF & HELEN SMIT (FG #2) in the sudden death of their daughter, Sandra, on Saturday, August 12. Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring them great comfort during this time of sorrow.
Congratulations to KAITLYN LANINGA (FG #1) and WYATT JOHNSON, who were united in marriage on Saturday, August 12. May God richly bless this new family.
Praise God for a baby boy, Miles Jordan, born to CHUCK & KELLIE WILKS (FG #9) on Tuesday, August 15! Mom and baby are both doing well.
Our missionaries, JEFFREY & MELISSA BOS, have returned to the West Michigan area and will be living here for a year. Pray that they will all adjust to the change in culture, and especially that the children will adjust well to their new school here. On the CRC Weekly Announcements page there is a notice about a discussion panel/Q&A session called “Learning to Engage our Muslim Neighbors”. Jeffrey will be participating in this discussion panel as one of the “special guests.” Please consider attending this informative and timely event, Friday, August 25.
News & Notes
In the Fairway
The latest edition of the Fairway church newsletter is in your mailboxes today. It’s chock-full of information about Fairway’s ministries! Visitors, if you would like a copy there are extras in the rack on the counter by the bulletin boards. We’d be happy if you took one!
From the Safe Church Team
To be consistent with safe church policies, children going to children in worship and little lambs during the worship service need to be checked in using the system outside of the nursery. Please do this prior to the service and keep your tag for picking up your child at the end of the service. Thank you for your effort in keeping your little ones safe while they worship apart from you!
From the Church Staff
The church staff will be taking a day away together for a Staff Retreat tomorrow, Monday, August 21. The church office will be closed. Diane will take Tuesday as her day off instead.
