We welcome each of you to worship. God loves you! We pray you’ll experience God’s love here today. Welcome to worship at Fairway!

If you have children ages 0-2, we’d love to serve them through childcare in our nursery.
Children in Worship and Little Lambs for ages 3 through Kindergarten will be dismissed during morning worship and will be meeting in a combined class for the summer.

Noise reducing headphones are now available to borrow during the morning service at the nursery counter. If your child lives with sensory input concerns, please feel free to use them.

We offer a sensory-friendly worship area for morning services, available in the Music Room (at the end of the hallway past the offices).

Hearing Loop Headsets are available for those who are hard of hearing. Please stop by the sound booth at the back of the sanctuary to receive a headset.

Prayer Requests for July 22-28

  • CAROL VUGTEVEEN (FG#9) was hospitalized for a few days with additional concerns as a result of her heart condition. She is scheduled for surgery this Tuesday, July 24, to repair a faulty valve. Pray for successful surgery and good healing.

  • Congratulations to SHAWN & SARA SOUDEK (FG #4) in the birth of their daughter, Adalyn Jo, on Sunday, July 15. Adalyn’s clavicle was fractured during birth, but she is home and seems to be healing well.

  • We express our sympathy and care for MARY ROZEBOOM (FG #6) in the death of Al’s daughter, Cindy Graham, who passed away on Monday, July 16, after a battle with ALS. Pray that the God’s promise of eternal life with sustain this family in their grief and give them hope and comfort.

  • FAIRWAY COUNCIL MEMBERS OF THE WEEK: This week please pray for Steve Laninga and Kathy Boeve as they serve as pastoral elder and deacon for fellowship group #9. Pray that Holy Spirit will guide and equip them with the wisdom and strength they need.

  • FAIRWAY MINISTRY OF THE WEEK – DISABILITY ADVOCATE: Kathy Boeve has joined the Disability Concerns ministry of our denomination by accepting the position of Church Disability Advocate for our congregation. Kathy will work closely with CRC Disability Concerns to assist you with any questions or concerns you might have in connection with disabilities. Please feel free to contact her, and please keep her and this ministry in your prayers.

  • Fairway Family – THANK YOU! Thank you for all the ways everyone helped make Super Hero VBS such a blessing for the 172 kids and their families that attended. The donations that were provided, the time our volunteers gave and for all the prayers, were all instrumental in that week being such an incredible expression of what our church’s mission is and was a perfect picture of who God is. We could not have done this without all of you! Blessings, The VBS Team

News & Notes

Congregational Survey on the Evening Worship Service

You will find a survey in your mailbox today soliciting your feedback on the evening worship service at Fairway. This has been a topic of discussion by the elders for a number of years. The elders have decided that during this transitional period in our history, it is imperative to address the issue of declining attendance and make some definite decisions on the future direction of the evening service. Your feedback is extremely important to the elders. All professing members of Fairway 18 years of age and older are asked to complete and return this survey no later than Sunday, August 5. There should be enough copies in each mailbox for each member 18 and older. However, if you need additional copies, there are extras on the bulletin kiosk, or you may contact your fellowship group elder.

Stuff the Bus

We will be collecting back-to-school supplies for Love In the Name of Christ’s “Stuff the Bus” ministry. This ministry provides backpacks filled with school supplies to children in the Hudsonville, Jenison and Grandville School districts. We have been given 32 children at Bursley Elementary School who need our help to have the items they need to start school out right this year.

Check out the poster on the bulletin board. Please consider picking up a tag (in the rack below the poster) and purchasing all the items listed on the tag. Attach the tag to the filled backpack and return the backpack to church by Sunday, August 12. If you have any questions regarding the Stuff the Bus Ministry or would like to purchase additional items, please contact Tonia Westmaas, Relational Ministry Coordinator at Love in the Name of Christ at 662-3300 ext. 122.
